"Thoughts on a Bullfrog Bat"

My first Bullfrog Bat was given to me on England's tour to the West Indies in 1998 just before the start of the fifth test because the bat I was using at the time was a tatty, old stickerless piece of wood and they felt I deserved something better.

Whilst the carving of myself bowling emblazoned on the back of the bat was magnificent, I was at first dubious about the quality of the blade. My fears were dispelled the first time I put it to the test: it was a belter.

Since then I have had three other Bullfrog Bats: one specifically for England's tour to Australia in 1998/99, depicting a lion with a ball in its hand threatening a timid kangaroo.

The bat that I had for the 1999 World Cup depicted me sitting in an armchair relaxing with a glass of red wine. My 2000 bat showed me in my new position as Middlesex captain.

Bullfrog Bats, as well as being of high quality have created a lot of interest, especially for the TV stump cameras. They have landed me in front of some match referees but they have allowed me to be the only international player to have his own personalised bat logo.
